Etcetera #11: Guns, Protests, And The Clash Between Rights And Responsibilities

In this episode, we take a look at two issues that have pushed the First and Second Amendment into the spotlight.

First, in the wake of the mass shooting, Americans are asking a lot of questions again about the Second Amendment, gun ownership, and gun violence. We don't try to tackle all of those issues, but we take a look at some of the statistics, causes and solutions swirling around this issue.

Second, the First Amendment issue of free speech has been front and center because of the NFL players kneeling during the national anthem. Is there a way to balance freedom to express frustration and anger with injustice while honoring the good things for which the flag acts as a symbol? And just how important is it to defend the right of those with whom we disagree to speak?
